    Sisters Left Pg
Layout by Corgi Lover- Credits: When my sister came up for vacation we had to have our pictures taken together on the old home farm. This is a tradition that started when we were just little girls! Somehow we don't fit as easily as we use to LOL! But the old barn hay window hasn't changed. Family Vacation
Layout by boobearsmama1 - Credits: My dd and her grandma during our vacation
Journaling Reads: We were standing in line at the Baltimore Aquarium, to get some tickets. You were getting all excited to see the dolphin show. You were running all over the place. We played a trick on you and said the show was canceled. You ran to grandma to make sure we were not serious. Grandma told us to stop teasing you, and you were happy all over again. You told the lady at the ticket booth that you couldn't wait to see all of the animals. You hung out with grandma for most of the day. You two were often seen holding hands and hugging. I think you were excited for her to come with us, just as much as you were excited to see it all. -My sister, My Friend Backpack set 1 created by Lisa Carter, -In the hood Backpack set created by Lisa Carter, -My sister, My Friend page kit and addon 1 created by Lisa Carter, -Alpha from Club Digital July 2006, -granparents WA created by Tina Chambers, -keep em in stitches part 2 created by Lisa Carter, -Hardware silver parts created by Lisa Carter
DET Round 1 - Phil & Erin Honeymoon
Layout by bentrdr - Credits: This photo of my nephew and his wife on their honeymoon in Hawaii was one of those where you hand the camera to a passerby, who in this case did a great job. They both have beautiful eyes and this photo so perfectly focused on their faces showing their love that I wanted to do something with the layout that was all about the photo. Meryl's Rockpool kit had the perfect soft colors and complementary elements to ehance the photo without overwhelming it. I recolored one of the background papers to coordinate with the blues in the photo. Only 50,000 people live in Venice today - several hundred thousand less than in its heyday - primarily because it has become too expensive - like most Italian cities. After fast-forwarding into the guided tour line to get into the opulent St. Mark's Cathedral with its beautiful gold and colored glass mosaics, we saw the façade of the Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari church and ended our tour near Rialto.

We had seen a really cute trattoria on the way and sat down to another wonderful lunch with arguably one of the best risottos (pesto) of the trip. After lunch we went to the top of the Campanile (Bell Tower) in St. Mark's Square and spent the rest of the afternoon in Doge's Palace. That evening we went back down to the San Polo district across the Rialto Bridge to do a progressive tapas & pub crawl - trying the different fare at each.

Again, it appears that we may have been too early to get the tapas the locals were ordering later, but it was still fun to mix with the locals. We certainly saw plenty of them drinking the orange Venice appertif! From there, we shopped our way back to the hotel and discussed skipping the Guggenheim or Murano glass factory the next morning in favor of finishing our shopping first thing in the am and heading out to Florence. Journaling reads:

Later in San Gimignano, we explored the town on our own, going to the top of the hill to the ruined castle. From there the stunning vistas of the Tuscany countryside, as well as the 13 towers built by rival noble families during the 12th & 13th centuries were clearly visible.

In this small medieval town, like Siena, we found a wealth of unique and artistic Tuscan pottery which Laurie, Lynn and Beth all purchased.

It was shortly before our stop here that we realized we would not be getting back to Florence at 3:30 as stated in our confirmation - but rather closer to 6 pm - which would scarcely leave us enough time to change for the opera and dinner we had planned for that evening. Kim
